Reproducibility: Mastering the Art of Pipetting
On-demand
Dr. Barbara Siefker
Barbara obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology in 2004 at the University of Cologne, where she researched the asexual reproduction of jellyfish using molecular biology techniques. After her Ph.D., she gained different sales experiences at PerkinElmer and Microsynth Seqlab before joining Eppendorf as a product manager, and manual Liquid Handling (mLH) certified trainer in 2014. Since 2018, Barbara has been the product marketing manager for mLH solutions in Europe, and she is happily celebrating the 60 year-anniversary of Eppendorf piston-stroke pipettes this year!
CloseDr. Ulrike Gast
Ulrike Gast specializes in applications for liquid handling systems and in teaching their correct use. She provides guidance to users in solving difficult pipetting questions and has supported Eppendorf pipette calibration labs in their accreditation process. Ulrike holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Tübingen. She has a great deal of practical experience in both the correct use of liquid handling systems and their performance testing.

Have you ever transferred glycerol or ethanol with a pipette? Most people KNOW that this can be challenging. But often, they do NOT KNOW which liquid handling system is best to use in this case.
While you may already realize that your liquid type and pipetting technique have the power to influence your analysis results, you might be wondering how you can improve your pipetting technique.
Eppendorf has spent the last 60 years researching the physics of pipetting. In this webinar, they will share this knowledge with you and show you how to optimize the handling of liquids using some simple tricks, ensuring that "the pipette" does not influence your analysis results.
In this webinar, you will discover:
- How different liquid types can influence pipetting accuracy;
- Different liquid handling techniques and the best approach to adopt for each liquid type;
- How to implement a good pipetting technique to improve the accuracy of your results.
