Since the start of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in March 2020, South Africa has experienced four COVID-19 waves, each dominated by a different variant of the virus: Ancestral, Beta, Delta, and Omicron.

Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 patients admitted during each of these waves has provided insight into how immune response and clinical outcomes differs between variants.

This webinar showcases the analysis of 158 SARS-CoV-2 positive patients admitted to hospitals in Tshwane, South Africa, during the four COVID-19 waves.

You'll learn how T-cell and monocyte phenotyping was performed on a CytoFLEX flow cytometer and the data analyzed using Kaluza v2.1.2 and the Cytobank platform to uncover changes in non-classical monocytes, expression of co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory molecules, and CD4:CD8 ratios between waves.

Register now to discover the discrete differences in monocyte and T-cell phenotypes observed across the four COVID-19 waves in South Africa, and how this provides insight into the immune responses elicited by the different SARS-CoV-2 variants.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • Valuable insights into the immune responses elicited by the different SARS-CoV-2 variants;
  • Details on how the immunological profiles and clinical outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 patients were determined and compared;
  • How T-cell and monocyte phenotypes and immunological profiles of SARS-CoV-2 patients differed across the four COVID-19 waves;
  • About the application of the CytoFlex flow cytometer for T-cell and monocyte phenotyping, and data analysis conducted using Kaluza v2.1.2 and the Cytobank platform.
